Would a sign saying “Watch Your Step” help much when one step on these New York City subway stairs is taller than all of the others?
From Mashable, check out the video of people tripping. It's clearly a system problem… one that couldn't be fixed by a sign (and it seems like that hasn't been attempted, anyway… would be a waste of a sign).
